Will Hamblen

Will learned to play music on his own, no lessons at all. Can pretty much play any instrument...drums and percussion, lead and rhythm and slide guitar, harmonica, mandolin, Dobro guitar and the Lap Steel guitar.

Will is also one of the founding members in Focal Point and is Eddie's brother-in-law. Some of his favorite bands include the Beatles, Little Feat, Doobie Bothers, Lynard Skynard, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Outlaws, Van Halen and many more...most of which you will hear when Focal Point plays live.

From Will: I would like to thank my wife Debbie, my kids Matt and Katie and my "brothers in the band", they are the best! I would also like to thank my older brothers Lappy and Allen for providing a young kid with great music to listen to in the 60's and 70's for that is where I formed my musical taste.

Also to all other people I have played music with throughout the years, especially Phil Douglas, Rich Anderson and Lyall Shank (Bridge) we really could sing almost as good as the Eagles!

I'd also like to thank Kip Williams - Richmond Music Center for all his help in the early days and  props to my buddy Dave Thomas for taking such good care of my guitars, he's the best!

Also, thanks to Dan, Larry, my two Lynchburg brothers and of course to all my friends from the "St. Johns Woods" flag football days, boy were those days a hoot, plus we were pretty darn good! Last but not least, to all my brothers at Fork Union, my other family, I love you guys!

To my son, Matt, who is away for a little while getting some help so he can come back well. I hope one day he can join the band as a member, at least I hope so one day. I love you and miss you very much, hang in there!! Katie too, she is an awesome piano player...with Mike's kids, who knows, maybe Focal Point's next generation of players?! Now that would be passing the torch!
